Oldham Fostering Service needs foster carers right now.
Fostering is caring for someone else’s child in your home whilst they cannot live with their own family. Children and young people need fostering for all sorts of reasons and for different lengths of time.
All types of people make great carers. What is important is you as an individual and the personal qualities you possess. We need people who are caring, patient, resilient, and enjoy working with children. A sense of humour also helps!
We also ask that you are over 21 and have room in your home.
There are lots of different types of fostering that you can do depending on your skills, time and experience, and we especially need carers for older children, including teenagers, brothers and sisters who need to stay together, young parents and their babies and children on a long-term basis.
Fostering is a real career choice for those who have the skills and qualities to foster. You will:
- Receive competitive payments and allowances, plus other benefits.
- Have your own supervising social worker.
- Receive ongoing training and support.
- Have access to specialist services, support groups and Oldham Foster Care Forum plus regular newsletters.
- Become a member of FosterTalk giving you access to a range of support services and discounts.
We would also like to hear from people who are already experienced foster carers. Maybe you want to foster younger children or commit to fostering on a long-term basis. Whatever the reason, we would love to hear from you. Transferring is quicker and easier than you think.
