Role overview
Formed in 2007, Unity Partnership is a wholly owned company of Oldham Council which provides professional, outsourced services to both public and private sector clients, specialising in local authorities and the health and education sectors in Greater Manchester and the North West. As subject-matter experts, we achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients by adding value, driving innovation and increasing efficiencies to improve services and reduce costs. We offer consultancy, customer services, exchequer services, highways, HR, IT and property services.
While our key focus is on serving our primary client, Oldham Council, and our other existing clients, our ambition also extends to expanding our offer to provide consulting and specialist expertise to local authorities and public services in Greater Manchester and the North West. We now need your help to secure, develop and nurture the next phase of our progress and growth.
This role is central to the leadership and management of our plans to transform and align our services by driving commercial thinking and practice.
Key responsibilities
The successful candidate will support and advise on a complex range of financial and operational activities, developing efficient and affordable operating models. Ultimately, you will drive and lead our strategic partnership combining commercial service delivery with social purpose.
Key requirements
You will possess a demonstrable record of senior leadership working in the public sector or within a public-sector context. A track record of sustained achievement and service improvements that have improved organisational and partnership performance will be important as will experience of leading a range of corporate and operational services in a multi-faceted organisation. Understanding the evolution of customer service through digital technology is a vital aspect of the role as is a sound understanding of traded services in a commercial setting. Success in developing working relationships and partnerships, working collaboratively to improve or deliver high quality services in a service led community or customer based setting is also key.
