Salary: Grade 4 (Scale 20-25) FTE £19,819 - £23,111 pro rata.
Hours: per week 32.5 hours
Based: Level 4 Oldham Civic Centre

Role overview
- Working as part of the QEST Team Pupil Intervention Project (PIP), you will contribute to the effective delivery of the project under the direction of the PIP Manager by:
- Supporting and facilitating the inclusion of pupils with complex communication difficulties or autism in individual schools.
- Providing advice on appropriate strategies and interventions based on a sound assessment as well as modelling and coaching to staff.
- Contribute to the overall development of the SEN Support Service
Key responsibilities
- To be aware of and understand National and Local initiatives and priorities, and the implications for children SEND within Oldham.
- Providing appropriate assessment, under the guidance of the Autism Senior Practitioner Advisory Teacher, to inform the SEN support plan, including appropriate interventions, strategies and differentiation.
- To work collaboratively with school staff, parents, pupils and other professionals as directed by the Senior Practitioner Advisory Teacher.
- To work collaboratively with professionals within the Oldham SEN Support Services
Key Requirements
To succeed in this role you will need as a minimum:
- A good standard of literacy with the ability to generate reports outlining strengths and individual needs of pupils with autism
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively advise and support staff in schools and parents
- Sound knowledge, skills and direct experience of working with pupils with autism. Experience within the Early Years would be beneficial.
- The use of a car would be necessary to work in schools throughout the borough
