Salary: £22,911 - £26,999 plus essential car allowance

Hours: 36.66 per week

Based: Unit 2, Whitney Court, Southlink, Hamilton Street, Oldham OL4 1 DB

Role Overview:

  • To supervise and use observation and assessment skills to provide detailed and accurate recordings.
  • Support and work closely with Social Worker.
  • Attend meeting regarding children and their families as part of Multi Agency working
  • To work directly with children, young people and families providing practical support advice and guidance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work alongside the Senior Family Worker to ensure the smooth running of the building and to support the staff team.  
  • To make accurate observations, assessments and recordings.
  • To support and offer practical guidance to parents within all aspects of parenting, this may be in the family home, community, or within a Family Centre.
  • To work directly with children and young people.
  • To deputise in the absence of the Senior Family Worker.

 

Key Requirements:

 

To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

  • NVQ level 4 or equivalent child care qualification and experience of working with children and families.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A good knowledge of child development and good child care practice, respecting cultural differences.
