Salary: £24,717 - £29,033 p.a.

Hours: 36.40 per week

Role overview

 

The role of Planning and Commissioning Officer will support planning and commissioning managers in ensuring that services are strategically relevant, meet identified needs and agreed outcomes, achieve performance targets and are high quality and cost effective.

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • You will lead and contribute to the development and production of commissioning strategies and projects that are being coordinated and written by Planning and Commissioning Managers and others.

 

  • You will lead and contribute to the strategic development of services, working closely with key colleagues within commissioning teams and others such as procurement and area/neighbourhood services managers.

 

  • You will promote and facilitate the involvement of service users in the commissioning cycle i.e. influencing the design and delivery of services and in procurement and contract monitoring processes.

 

  • You will develop service specifications for new and existing services

 

  • Monitoring of appropriate budgets and contracts using relevant financial and procurement procedures and processes.

 

Key Requirements

 

To succeed in this role you will need as a minimum:

 

  • Considerable experience of working across a range of complex, multi-disciplinary and culturally diverse organisations supporting the planning, commissioning and/or delivery of services for children

 

  • Experience of supporting the development of performance monitoring frameworks and monitoring targets effectively

 

  • Experience of supporting and coordinating partnership boards and senior level meetings
