Role overview

 

The Fostering Service in Oldham incorporates service provision to mainstream foster carers and Connected carers and will cover all aspects of the Fostering Service.

 

We are currently looking for an experienced, dynamic and highly motivated Fostering Team Manager who has clear Leadership and motivational qualities and can demonstrate a clear commitment and drive to achieve best practice within this field and have highly developed specialist knowledge of Social Work Practice within the field of Fostering.

 

You will have a responsibility in leading and directing a team of Supervising Social Workers to drive ongoing improvements in Oldham, providing high support and high challenge.

 

Key responsibilities

 

The role will provide high quality supervision, build on models of support and training to foster carers and their families to ensure the best outcomes are achieved for Children and Young People. You will be expected to work with the Senior Leadership team to promote increased targeted recruitment and monitor the progress of Children, foster carer’s and Placement stability.

 

You will be expected to promote Professional standards in the service area by developing Oldham’s outcome focused teams, managing and monitoring Performance to ensure the effectiveness of Service Provision in meeting key performance measures and develop, maintain and review processes and procedures.

 

Alongside other Team Manager you will be expected to provide advice and quality assurance as Agency Advisor to Oldham’s Independent Fostering Panel and DCS.

Key Requirements

  • Educated to DIPSW or degree level social work;
  • HCPC registration;

  • Willingness to improve practice of self and others;
  • An enhanced DBS is required.
