Salary: £26,317 - £30,507 p.a. (pro rata)

Hours: 36.66 per week

Based: Civic Centre Oldham, OL1 1UT

Role overview

As a member of the Constitutional Services team, you will provide a dedicated committee support and advisory service to a range of meetings which including Full Council, the Cabinet, regulatory, scrutiny and other committees of the Council and various appeal bodies and Charities.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Service, support and advise the full range of Committees and bodies of the Council.
  • Provide constitutional and decision-making advice to Elected Members and Officers of the Council in relation to the Council’s governance processes.
  • Respond fully to enquiries from members of the public, Elected Members, Officers and partner organisations, and ensure that issues are dealt with promptly and effectively.
  • Administer and advise School admission and exclusion appeals.

Key Requirements

To succeed in this role you will need as a minimum:

  • The ability and experience to support and service committee meetings and give objective procedural advice to Officers and Councillors.
  • Excellent organisational skills, to work under pressure to potentially conflicting deadlines, and working under your own initiative.
  • Excellent team working skills, to ensure the work is consistently completed to service quality standards, deadlines are achieved and learning opportunities are shared across the team.
