Role overview
The Principal Building Services Engineer reports to the Building Services Engineering Team Leader. The role will support and assist with leading the Building Services team to deliver effective building services design and maintenance solutions through technical excellence.
Key responsibilities
To assist with leading the Building Services team to deliver effective services through technical excellence. To support the development and implementation of innovative design processes that promotes the effective and efficient delivery of building services design and maintenance solutions. To provide design and supervise project delivery across a wide range of building services related activity.
To review specifications and design detail to ensure compliance with appropriate regulations, standards and established best practice. To assist with the delivery of asset management inspections, control of maintenance activities and the refurbishment of commercial properties.
To promote continued improvement in the Building Services team, providing mentoring as required to promote professional development of services graduates, technicians and engineers.
To support the implementation of Unity Partnerships strategic objectives whilst promoting and working within the established values framework.
Key Requirements
To succeed in this role you will need as a minimum:
- Degree in Building Services Engineering (or an appropriate equivalent subject)
- Membership of Relevant Building Services Institution (IMechE,CIBSE,IET)
- Professional registration as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) with an ability to demonstrate significant progress towards attainment of registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng)
