Based: Turf Lane Lifelong Learning Centre, Turf Lane, Chadderton OL9 8HP

Oldham Lifelong Learning Service, judged as Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in November 2015, is a successful thriving adult and community education provider serving the diverse needs of local communities.  In 2016, we were re-awarded the national Matrix Standard for the quality of our information, advice and guidance.  We have approximately 11,000 enrolments across a broad range of programmes and put our learners at the heart of all that we do.

 

We are looking to appoint a 0.5FTE Programme Leader (18.20 hours per week) to work across the Service to develop, deliver and co-ordinate employability programmes to enable learners take the first steps towards the labour market.  You will assist the Curriculum Manager in the development and management of the curriculum and you will support part-time teaching staff in the team. 

 

You will work in partnership with the Get Oldham Working team, Job Centre Plus, the National Careers Service and specialist support agencies to develop and deliver local provision.  You will meet local needs by working with a wide range of community organisations to develop and deliver a responsive provision.

 

Our courses attract a diverse group of learners from different backgrounds and it is essential that you are able to accommodate this in your planning, teaching and assessment strategies.

 

Experience of engaging and working with adults who are from disadvantaged areas and who are unemployed is essential.  You will also have experience of teaching a subject which is part of the curriculum listed above.

 

You will hold a recognised teaching qualification at Level 4 e.g. Certificate in Education, PGCE, CTLLS and at least a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject specialism area.

 

You will work in a supportive, friendly environment and will receive all of the staff benefits associated with working with Oldham Council.  We offer excellent opportunities for professional development.
