New Bridge Multi Academy Trust (MAT) presently comprises New Bridge School, New Bridge
Learning Centre, Spring Brook Academy, Hollinwood Academy (all situated in Oldham) and
Hawthorns School (situated in Audenshaw). Our new AP free school, the Springboard Project
opened in September 2019. We support the learning, social and pastoral needs of over 700
young people aged between 4 and 19 years.


Part of the New Bridge Multi Academy Trust, Hollinwood Academy is a specialist school for 215 children aged between 4 and 19 years who are on the autistic spectrum and/or have significant communication and interaction difficulties. Open since September 2015, our vision is to create a learning environment that is successful, aspirational and sustainable. We ensure that our children and young people benefit from being a partner in the family of schools within Oldham.


Applicants should be able to demonstrate how they meet the following essential criteria:
  • Minimum 2 years extensive experience of supporting teaching and learning within an ASC setting.
  • The ability to support teaching and learning with an ASC setting to a dedicated group of pupils.
  • Experience of supporting the class teacher in delivering to either primary or secondary pupils.
  • A nurturing approach to behaviour management.
  • Experience of supporting the class teacher to monitor the progress of pupils, ensuring their improved engagement with the school and their learning.
  • The ability to record progress and provide regular feedback to stakeholders.
  • The ability to model and encourage appropriate social behaviour in and out of school and to cater for the general welfare of pupils.
  • The ability to work in partnership with classroom teachers/deliverers to differentiate appropriate interventions for pupils in relation to the curriculum.
  • Willingness to participate in own professional development.

Salary: NJC Point 3 - £18,065 per annum (based upon full time / full year)
Actual Salary: £13,400 per annum (pro rata)
Allowance: SEN allowance £1,289 per annum
Contracted Hours: 32 hours 55 minutes per week / term time only (190 days)
Based: Initially at Hollinwood Academy, Roman Road, Hollinwood, Oldham OL8 3PT
