In 2016-17, Oldham Sixth Form College was graded 'Good' by Ofsted, receiving a glowing report. In addition, the outstanding achievement and progression rates of all our students led to OSFC receiving the Social Mobility Award at the Educate North Awards in April 2017. Furthermore, in July 2017, the college was designated a Teaching School in recognition of its impressive track record in developing teachers and sharing best practice. Learning Resources Facilitator (Officer)
Full time, Full Year (Term Time options available), Permanent. To commence as soon as possible.
Working hours are 7 hours 20 minutes per day (36.40 weekly) to be worked between 8am and 5pm Mon to Fri. Flexibility is required to attend college events such as open days/evenings.

Salary: Pro-rata of Points* 23 - 27 of the Sixth Form College’s Support Staff pay spine, currently £19,094 - £21,814 per annum (pay award pending).

A library qualification is desirable but not essential for this role.

The Know at Oldham Sixth Form College is offering the exciting opportunity for a talented information professional to join the award winning and high achieving Learning Resources Team. The Know was awarded Grade 1 – Excellent, in October 2018 from CoLRiC (Council for Learning Resources in Colleges) for its service.

The successful candidate will provide high quality guidance and support to students and staff, on an individual or group basis, on the use of digital platforms, learning resources, and information technologies.
The post holder will work with the Learning Resources Manager to maintain a smooth day-to-day running of the Learning Resource Centre (The Know). This will involve advising and guiding students and staff in the use of a range of digital & learning resources, including work developing resources on the VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) and use of GSuite/Classroom. You will develop and create digital learning materials and resources, to support a number of curriculum areas and actively engage with learners to ascertain their learning/ study needs. You will also be required to deliver a comprehensive range of Information and Digital Skills training to students & staff. The role will also involve administrative and clerical duties as well as help-desk work. You have should excellent IT and literacy skills and be able to communicate with staff and students to provide a customer focused service.
