Salary: From £19,698 – £24,491 per year (pro-rata and depending on experience)

Hours: Various contracts available, both part-time and full-time (up to 36.66 hours per week) 

Based: Oldham

Role Overview:

 

Are you interested in supporting people who are living with learning disabilities, autism and mental health-related conditions such as personality disorders and forensic mental health issues? Are you enthusiastic, skilful, resilient and driven to make a difference in the lives of others?

 

We are actively seeking dedicated and experienced Community Support Workers to join our team, who can provide care and support within a Supported Living property to individuals living with a variety of complex needs and challenging behaviours. Experience of working within a demanding and sometimes confrontational environment is necessary and a willingness to adopt a proactive approach in managing disruptive, volatile behaviour is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To have a knowledge and understanding of the needs of vulnerable adults including those with a learning disability, autism, mental health and ABI (Acquired Brain Injury).
  • To support and enable / re-enable service users who may require assistance with personal care and physical tasks such as administering medication.
  • To ensure the care, health and wellbeing of each individual is provided, whilst reporting and recording concerns to relevant people and liaising with colleagues, medical professionals and any other appropriate body.
  • To maintain appropriate records and pass on any relevant information about the needs of the service user to your manager or other designated persons and ensure compliance with the Data and Freedom of Information Act.

Key Requirements:

 

To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or willingness to achieve this qualification.
  • A determination to provide the best possible service and a willingness to fully embrace the ethos of the service.
  • Experience of working with people with a learning disability and/or mental health conditions or possess transferable skills and values.
