Role overview 

Key responsibilities
  • To undertake work in parks, highways, playing fields, public open spaces and landscaped areas as part of a team and to contribute to excellent service delivery.
  • To maintain grass and shrubs, bedding displays, basic horticultural operations, sweeping, collection and removal of litter, glass, furniture, graffiti, fly posting, dirt, leaves and weeds.
Key Requirements 
  • To undertake all duties of Environmental Operatives 1 & 2 and supervision of apprentices/trainees/Grade 1 and grade 2 Environmental operatives as required.
  • Interpretation of plans, site preparation and construction.
  • To work with minimal supervision and accept responsibility for the direction of the work of trainees and or other employees as assigned.
  • To work with non HGVs and HGV specialist vehicles and other large plant associated with maintenance, including ride on mowing, machinery and mechanical sweeping equipment and associated tractor mounted implements.
