Oldham Council

Oldham Council is recognised nationally for our innovation and the quality of our services. Being named the Most Improved Council 2012 was recognition of the scale of improvement that we have achieved over the past four years – but this is just the start. We need to continue improving and innovating so that we can understand and address the changing demands of communities locally, particularly in the context of challenging times for local public services.

Intelligence Officer (Data Analyst) – Fixed term for 18 months (Maternity cover)

We’re looking for an Intelligence Officer to work within the Business Intelligence Service. In a fast-paced team, you’ll be working with Public Health and Social Care data, but with the opportunity to widen your skills into other areas. While this is a fixed-term post, staff development is important to us, and further opportunities are likely to emerge should you show your talents.

You’ll be working with tools such as Excel, SQL, SPSS and Mapinfo to interrogate and visualise big data creatively, and to build performance reports or tools.

You’ll definitely be at home with data analysis, and experience in Public Health and/or Social Care would be welcome but not essential. We also welcome other skills, such as qualitative and quantitative research methods and knowledge of customer insight/behaviour change.

Closing date: 19th June 2017
