Role overview

We are looking for an ambitious and innovative person to join our revenues team. You will be responsible for a team administering, collecting and recovering council tax and business rates. The successful candidate will have a background in revenues or debt recovery. 

Key responsibilities

  • Seeking continual improvement within the Revenues & Benefits Service
  • Developing team members, coaching and mentoring the team
  •  Performance management of the team
  •  Ensuring that appeals and complaints are dealt with effectively and efficiently.
  • Representing the council at the Magistrates Court for council tax and business rate liability order applications.
     

Key Requirements

To succeed in this role you will need as a minimum:

  • Significant experience in council tax and business rates billing and debt recovery processing activities.
  • Demonstrated skill and knowledge of understanding and meeting the needs of the customers.
  • Able to demonstrate a contribution to continuous improvement of the service including processes, systems and outputs.
  • Specific knowledge or ability to use the relevant software, Academy, One Step and info@work.
  • Excellent customer care and interpersonal skills
