Role overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of the Adult Multi-agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team in the post of Customer Service Officer.  You will be expected to work directly with the public, undertaking initial assessments in accordance with the Care Act legislation.

 

Key responsibilities

  • To undertake an initial phone based assessment of individuals and their carers to determine, if they are eligible for a statutory assessment.
  • Where appropriate sign post individuals to Universal Community Services and Oldham’s Early Help Service.
  • To identify Safeguarding concerns and make enquires in line with Care Act legislation and the Councils Safeguarding Policy.  
  • In consultation with the manager identify those  individuals who will be referred to the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub

Key Requirements

 

To succeed in this role you will need as a minimum:

  • Experience of advising, listening and signposting members of the public over the phone in relation to Adult Social Care needs.
  • Experience of using an electronic Social Care information system.
  • Ability to obtain, record , store and analyse information to support decision making , complete records, advise and inform others.
  • To be able to prioritise workload in a busy professional environment.

The post is subject to an enhanced disclosure from the DBS (previously known as CRB)
