Part-time (25 hours per week), Permanent
£36,876 - £40,760 pro rata per annum

Saddleworth Parish Council wishes to appoint an energetic and self-motivated individual to manage its business and to carry out all aspects of its financial administration. The ideal candidate will have good organisational, numeracy and computer skills, be a good communicator and should be CiLCA qualified or willing to study for this qualification. Key competencies required include experience in bookkeeping; preparation of final accounts & annual budget; management of accounts & preparation of financial reports

Saddleworth has a precept of £201,000. It owns and manages the Civic Hall, an allotment site, a cemetery and two pieces of land for public recreation. The council liaises closely with a number of community groups and is in the process of drawing up a Neighbourhood Plan.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing its services and seven other part time staff members, external contractors and volunteers. The person appointed will also be closely involved with any major projects which the council may undertake, adding to the interest and reward of the role.
