Role Overview: 

You will work as a member of the Music Service’s brass teaching team, delivering music lessons both in schools and at the Music Centre.  A key part of the role is to take part in the continued expansion of brass subject area, seeing it develop both in quality and breadth.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • To deliver brass teaching in schools and at the Music Centre across all key stages, working with small groups, whole classes and instrumental ensembles.
  • To take responsibility for the musical direction and development of one or more Music Centre ensembles, leading them in various concerts, etc as required.
  • To contribute to the continuous development of the practice of the entire brass teaching team.

Key Requirements: 

To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

  • Broad and comprehensive experience of instrumental teaching in schools.
  • A commitment to and track record of successfully developing young people’s musical aspirations, both in and out of schools.
  • An ability to continuously develop personally as a teacher and musician for the benefit of pupils.
