Salary: £30,507 - £34,788 (Grade 7)

Hours: 36.66 per week

Location: Oldham Civic Centre

Role Overview:

 

Working within Children’s Social Care and Early Help, you will be part of a dynamic team working to implement a new and innovative Family Group Conferencing Service across Children’s Social Care and Early Help.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To co-ordinate Family Group Meetings, responsible for preparing families and professionals for meetings and reviews.
  • To be responsible for the negotiation, mediation and facilitation of the Family Group meeting processes.
  • To support the development of the Family Group Conference methods and ways of working at lower levels before families are in Children’s Social Care.  
  • To support the role out of Family Group methodologies across children’s services.

 

Key Requirements:

 

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • The skills to engage children/young people, families and professionals in the Family Group Conferencing and Family mediation processes.
  • You will need to believe in the effectiveness of family-led planning and work from a strengths perspective and have the energy and drive to progress the development of the FGC service.
  • You will promote it within localities via meetings, presentations, written reports, data analysis.
  • Support other colleagues to be able to be able to use the FGC approach to further embed the service.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of the Signs of Safety approach to practice would be an advantage but not essential
