Salary: £17,186 (based on current rates) per annum

Hours: 36.66 per week

Based: Civic Centre, West Street, Oldham OL1 1NL (currently home working until further notice)

Role Overview:

 

Oldham Council’s Transformation and Reform Service provides programme and project support to a wide range of service areas within the Council and its wider partnerships.  

As an apprentice working in project management, you will have the opportunity to be involved in the whole lifecycle of a project, from when a transformation need is identified through to handing over the finished project. You will support a number of different projects and have involvement in large-scale, complex programmes.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in developing a career in project management while helping to make a positive impact for the residents of Oldham.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Programme and Project Managers with the management and organisation of key projects.
  • Arranging project meetings, taking action notes and monitoring progress.
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Producing and monitoring project plans to ensure the project is delivered on time.
  • Producing reports to capture and summarise progress of projects..

 

Key Requirements:

 

To succeed in this role you will need as a minimum:

  • To be able to demonstrate that you can communicate effectively to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of people at different levels. 
  • Experience of Microsoft Office software; including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. 
  • Excellent organisational skills to plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
