Role overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join the finance team on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave for a period of up to 12 months to help support the way services are delivered in Oldham. The post will be that of a Senior Accountant within the Corporate Control team, predominantly looking after all Collection Fund Accounting. The Senior Accountant will support the Finance Manager in production of accurate budget monitoring forecasts and assist on projects. The Senior Accountant will also assist the Finance Manager in the provision of financial advice, modelling and assurance functions to both internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Production of monthly budget monitoring reports and senior management packs
- Liaising with budget holders on a range of financial issues
- Budget setting for Directorates
- Supporting the Finance Managers with other activity i.e. projects
- Supporting the accounts closure process
Key Requirements
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and an ability to plan ahead to achieve deadlines.
- Excellent Leadership qualities.
