Role Overview:

Working within the council’s busy new Housing Options Team, you help deliver the Council’s statutory homelessness duties by demonstrating a high standard of customer service. As part of your role you will be expected to support officer and assist in carrying our daily administrative duties such as data entries in various formats, registering applications, booking accommodation for customers, uploading and downloading documents to assist officers, making supervised phone calls.

 

The post holder must also demonstrate a good customer service by demonstrating their communication and listening skills in order to deliver accurate advice. In addition, a confident approach and positive attitude would help the post holder succeed in the Housing Options Team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To support officers in carrying out their duties effectively and efficiently
  • Assisting officers with direct matching and allocating suitable households to upcoming and available properties
  • Under supervision guidance, contacting customers to offer support and advice in respect of the applications and temporary accommodation

 

Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role you will need as a minimum:

  • Sufficient literacy and numeracy skills
  • Ability to use IT applications in relation to the requirements of the post including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills especially over the telephone
