Role overview
Working within the council’s Business and Investment Team and focussing on primarily on the digital sector, you will support business start-up, growth and investment in the Borough. This post will assist in implementing the Borough’s Business and Investment Strategy which aims to encourage business growth in the Borough through a competitive business support offer and effective business engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Support the development and growth of the digital sector in Oldham.
- Account manage a case load of businesses and ensure that they are connected to the advice and support they require to grow.
- Actively identify, engage with and support businesses in the Borough that could benefit from growth advice and business support programmes.
- Assist in the development of priority sectors in the Borough.
- Help promote the Oldham business support offer and successes through appropriate channels such as meetings, events, social media, website etc.
- Help market the Borough as a place to invest and do business.
Key Requirements
To succeed in this role you will need as a minimum:
- Experience of working with businesses to establish effective relationships.
- Experience of partnership working to achieve shared outcomes
- Experience of supporting the successful implementation of marketing and PR activity
