Based: Civic Centre, West Street, Oldham, some home working will be required during the current Covid-19 climate.

Role Overview:
We are looking for an individual with a passion for improving outcomes for all children and young people of the borough; to support the statutory work of the School Admissions Team, in relation to school admissions, education provision and placing vulnerable groups.
The post holder will work closely with other Council Services, schools and external agencies to ensure that children and young people in Oldham are allocated a suitable school place.
Key Responsibilities:
- To lead
on the processing of in year school admission requests.

To
assist with the management and quality assurance of the central pupil
database (admissions module) and management information systems.
- To
give quality advice to parents, schools and external agencies regarding
the determination and allocation of school places and the processes around
school waiting lists.
- To support the process
and administration regarding school appeals; collating information about
individual pupils, preparing and writing individual case papers and
attending in year transfer school appeals as the LA presenting officer.
Key Requirements:
You will need to possess excellent written, verbal and technological skills together with advanced organisational skills to ensure that deadlines required by statutory processes are met. You will form part of a close-knit busy team whilst at all times maintaining the ability to work on your own initiative. You will need to be able to communicate with varied audiences and have good negotiating skills.
