The reasons for these can be various and include children with a diagnosis of Autism, SEMH, Speech, Language and Communication difficulties or a specific learning need. Children who attend Spring Brook have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outlining their needs which enables us to provide a personalised and individual curriculum offer that ensures they are able to become effective learners and develop a better way of managing their needs.

The school operates on a split site basis with the KS3 provision based in Failsworth and the primary provision based in Hollins.

We currently have a vacancy for an experienced, resilient and highly committed Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join the fantastic team at our primary provision based in Hollins.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate how they meet the following essential criteria:

  • Proven track record of supporting young people who present with challenging behaviour and complex needs, preferably within an SEMH setting

  • Experience of providing cover for the short-term absence of a teacher
  • Experience of monitoring and assessing pupil progress and engagement; and providing regular feedback to stakeholders
  • Experience of working in partnership with classroom teachers to differentiate appropriate interventions for pupils in relation to the curriculum
  • Experience of supervising pupils over lunch and break times as directed
  • The ability to build relationships with pupils, families and key partners around the pupils.
  • The ability to work as part of a team using own initiative when needed
