Role Overview:

 

This is an exciting time to be joining the Oldham Opportunity Area (OA) Team at Oldham Council.  We are committed to breaking the link between where a child is born and where they get to in life.

 

As our Communications and Evaluation Lead you will be enthusiastic about social mobility for young people in Oldham.  You will have a positive and proactive approach to making things happen and be comfortable talking to people from all walks of life.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead on the delivery of communications activity for the Oldham Opportunity Area.
  • To maintain and develop the Oldham OA’s website, social media and newsletter.
  • To draft high-quality written content for use across communication channels.
  • To collaborate with internal and external partners to make sure crucial communications reach our target audiences.
  • To monitor the effectiveness of Oldham OA’s communications, and adapt delivery where required.
  • To manage the OA Insight Steering Group, leading on the production of relevant agenda items and associated papers.
  • To collaborate with providers, including the University of Manchester and the Department for Education to commission, monitor and publish evaluation and data reports.

 

Key Requirements:

 

To succeed in this role you will need as a minimum:

  • The ability to work with Wordpress, Twitter and Mailchimp to produce high-quality communications.
  • Experience of sourcing, collating and interpreting data for reporting purposes, including communications data, e.g. Google Analytics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence dealing with senior colleagues/partners, external providers, the Department for Education, schools and members of the public.
  • Strong organisational skills, and the ability to track and report on progress of delivery activity.
