Role overview

You will need a sound knowledge in the assessment of families and matching children’s needs, together with the skills and confidence to support and supervise Foster Carers in the best interests of children and young people in our care.

You will also have experience of undertaking assessments of potential foster carers. A good knowledge of the fostering regulations, child care law and safeguarding issues is essential. You will be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Key Requirements

  • Educated to DIPSW or degree level social work;
  • HCPC registration;
  • Evidence of professional development;
  • The ability to use IT;
  • Substantial post qualification experience in statutory childcare services;
  • Working as part of a team;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Willingness to improve practice of self and others;
  • An enhanced DBS is required.
