Role Overview:

 

Working within the revenues department you will be responsible for visiting tax/ratepayers to determine the most effective means to secure and maximise payment of council tax and business rates arrears and to implement the relevant enforcement remedies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visit debtors to maximise the collection of council tax and business rate income
  • Actively advise debtors regarding their eligibility to rebate, discounts and exemptions
  • Proactively obtain work or benefit information from debtors.

 

Key Requirements:

 

To succeed in this role you will need as a minimum:

  • In depth knowledge of Taking Control of Goods legislation
  • Be a Certificated Enforcement Agent
  • Experience of dealing with the public including an ability to deal with conflict
