Kingsland School is a Secondary Pupil Referral Unit. We are seeking to appoint two appropriately qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistants who are passionate about improving the life chances of vulnerable pupils. Kingsland School caters for pupils with medical / psychological problems as well as pupils who have been excluded or are at risk of permanent exclusion from secondary education. The school functions as a split site provision to be able to accommodate the wide range of need incorporating our unique provision of the Specialist Learning Centre (SLC) which enhances the support we are able to offer those pupils suffering with social, emotional and mental health needs.
Many of our pupils are vulnerable and have complex needs. We work with parents, carers and a range of agencies and stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcomes for them. Effective partnerships with secondary schools and academies are critical to achieving improved progress for our pupils.
The successful candidate must therefore be a highly motivated, qualified teaching assistant with a flexible approach and be able to work across KS3 and KS4 with pupils of all abilities. Due to split site arrangements, the successful candidates must be willing and able to travel between sites as required.
The successful candidates will work with a committed and supportive staff team.
Prospective applicants are welcome to visit the school. To arrange an appointment please contact the school office on 0161 770 3185.
Kingsland School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service
