Role Overview:

 

We currently have an opportunity for a full time Social worker position in our busy MASH (Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub). This is an exciting opportunity as we are seeking to strengthen our team, function and purpose to build on the already existing multi agency practice. You will need duty social work or previous MASH social work experience and an understanding of the importance of timely interventions for our children and families across the spectrum of need. We are a multi agency team based I the centre of Oldham and are co-located with other service providers. You would be joining a committed and dedicated team who are passionate about offering the right support at the right time from the front door to Children’s Services. Therefore commitment, motivation and dedication are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework and policies in relation to safeguarding children;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly in writing assessments and SMART plans for young people;
  • Proven experience in demonstrating your impact on families in achieving positive outcomes for children and influence the professional networks that you work with;
  • Innovative and positive engagement with children and families in their assessments and SMART plans and a passion for delivery of high-quality services and interventions to vulnerable children in partnership with a wide range of agencies.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Educated to DIPSW or degree level social work;
  • HCPC registration;
  • Evidence of professional development;
  • The ability to use IT;
  • Substantial post qualification experience in statutory childcare services;
  • Working as part of a team;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Willingness to improve practice of self and others;
  • An enhanced DBS is required.
